Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson, was born in Paris France of British parents Jacqueline Luesby Watson and Chris Watson both lawyers. At the age of five years old when she left for Oxfordshire and attended her first Dragon School. Emma's dream was to become an actor. When she was six, she joined the Oxford Stagecoach Theatre Arts branch in which she was taught classes for acting, singing and dance. The actress had performed in a variety of Stagecoach as well as school plays when she was 10 years old. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the 2001 version to J.K. Rowling's bestselling British book began in 1999. Emma was discovered by Emma's Oxford Theatre teacher. David Heyman informed Emma, Daniel Radcliffe, and Rupert Grint after auditions of 8. They were cast as three leads Hermione Gringer Harry Potter Ron Weasley. Emma's first appearance in a film was in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in the year 2001. The highest-grossing movie of 2001 it set new records for its opening day revenue as well as opening weekend takings. Reviewers were awed by the film and its performance. The Daily Telegraph, an important British publication, described Emma's acting "amazing". Emma later won five awards in recognition of her work in the film.
